Welcome to The Hypothermia Network

The Hypothermia Network is a clinical and research network, supported by the Scandinavian Critical Care Trials Group (SCCTG) and the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (SSAI).

The Hypothermia Network is independent, non-commercial and has three main aims:

  1. To promote the introduction of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest through a continuous update of clinical protocols and treatment proposals (available on the web).

  2. To promote the documentation of the clinical use of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest through a common registry – the International Cardiac Arrest Registry (INTCAR) - which will enable evaluation of this new treatment paradigm. Unconscious cardiac arrest patients, not treated with induced hypothermia, will also be registered.

  3. To promote common research projects.

The Hypothermia Network has an ambition to arrange meetings and workshops for educational and scientific purposes.

The Hypothermia Network is directed by a Steering Group with representatives from countries participating in the network.

Welcome to the 3rd International Hypothermia Symposium, Lund 2-5 September, 2009
